Researching the new packs must be done in space, so materials need to be brought up from the surface or from other planets via cargo rocket. There are 20 new types of science packs, 4 ranks each of 5 new types of science. Unfortunately, automating ships is a pretty big pain and requires the use of multiple combinators. This ship is fully automated and brings back full loads every 45 minutes or so. It can only be harvested from asteroid fields found in deep space. There are 5 new metals in the game (or 4 depending on how you classify vitamelange) and Naquium is the highest tech one. My Naquium hauler, currently docked and being loaded. The larger size allows for a full power plant which means I don't have to rely on solar power, which means I can take it between stars. It's only useable for in-system travel because it's solar powered and a good way to visit a mining outpost on a moon somewhere if I need to make a quick stop. Then there is even special secrets and ruins, etc to discover around the Universe on top of all this.Īs time goes on you build a Legit Space Ship I'm not kidding you there one that flys in space you have shields and turrets to take out mini asteroids to protect your ship with tons of upgrades, etc. You have things like Larger Planets have a higher Gravity costing a lot more fuel to take off vs say a small moon or Orbit of a Planet. As time goes on you can research save more rocket parts on each landing meaning reusability. Your Cargo Rockets deal in Rocket Parts, Liquid Rocket Fuel, etc. In fact I found out about this mod when I enjoyed DSP a lot wondering if Factorio had any space mods. Now your dealing with a Interstellar Logistics but on a much more legit and more expensive feeling then you get out of DSP. Moons and Planets all have Orbits as well that you can build a base in space.Īfter that you start moving to Cargo Rockets and tapping into new Resources on other Planets, Moons, and Asteroids. These are Planets, Moons, Asteroid Belts, etc. First you start sending Sats up into space to discover new zones in your system. But once you get to the Launching the Rocket things start to change. Most of the Vanilla content is not heavy modded say like bobs mod, etc. I have a Let's Play Series though it's going be a while till the episodes catch up to Space Portion of it so ignore thing unless you see this months later haha.Īnyways what makes this Mod amazing is it feels and acts like an entire expansion for the game.
